Making Of

"5pm on a Thursday in August" is the first narrative short film project undertaken by James Transue IV.  Principle photography began in November of 2019, and it was finally completed and shared in 2023.  While James was responsible for all the writing and post-production, he could not have done it without the help of many of his friends.  Whether it was acting in a short, holding up a green-screen, playing an instrument, or providing feedback on a story idea, their collaboration was a vital element to the completion of this project.

These entries will try to chronicle the making of each segment in the order they were created.  From writing, to production, editing, vfx, and final sound mixing.  Many thoughts and theories will be included to shed some light on the 'why' as much as the 'how' of each decision.
